Keeping Your Cool

No one has perfect control over relationships in their lives.  We have all had moments of saying “What were you thinking?”  or “How could you be so insensitive?”  What do you do when your frustration and stress level is described as “resentful” or “angry”?   That is what a small group at Redemption Lutheran Church is going to target.

“We decided that we wanted to help people in the management of their frustrations.” By offering communication tools instead of blame passing, we want to see couples and families have success and mutual understanding.  That was the beginning for the GETTING IT RIGHT seminar entitled “Keeping Your Cool” scheduled for every Monday night beginning Feb. 28 – March 28.

Angela Henry – a graduate of WMU with a Master’s Degree in Social Work will provide for us listening skills and bring out what you might be saying in body language.  Learn the big picture of listening, and managing your frustration by keeping the surprises to a minimum.

Don Horner – also a graduate of WMU with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, will teach us how to recognize what is happening.  Then gaining control of your emotions before they carry you down a path you don’t want to go.  We’ve all been there and done that by saying stuff we regret later.

Don & Linda Brott will speak on the very human emotion of anger and understanding your pattern of anger to help change the cycle of being out of control.  They’ve been speaking in workshops like this for 20 years in the perspective of what men see – what women see, and how the two can see eye to eye.

The cost is affordable at $20.00  for one person or $35.00  for two.  This will cover 5 Monday Night sessions.  If you need babysitting, there is a $2.00 a child per evening fee.  If you need wheel-chair access, please notify in advance.  The  evening begins at 6:30  and ending at 8:40.  For more information contact Keeping.Your.Cool@RedemptionLutheranChurch.org
